Marina is a localization manager with experience managing game and software projects. She teaches localization at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow and a runs her own localization-themed channel on Telegram (@ru.l10n). She loves everything related to language, culture, and technology.
Companies want their products to be received positively by people from various cultural backgrounds. Sometimes they make an effort in advance to ensure that their content will meet users’ expectations, and sometimes they simply react to complaints and legal issues. At this round table we will discuss the kinds of problems encountered by game and software developers when their content does not meet the expectations of users from various countries and cultures and how they solve these problems.
